Here are some important dates to keep in mind this fall and winter related to your taxes:
- October 16: Individuals file a 2022 income tax return (Form 1040) if an automatic six-month extension was requested.
- October 16: Corporations file a 2022 calendar year income tax return (Form 1120) if you requested an automatic six-month extension.
- October 31: Non-farm employers file Form 941 for the third quarter to report wages paid, and social security, Medicare, and income tax withheld from wages, and computer employer matching social security payments.
- December 15: Corporations deposit the fourth installment of estimated tax for 2023.
- January 15: Individuals make first installment payment of estimated tax for 2022 if you didn't pay your income tax for the year through withholding (Form 1040-ES). Farmers pay estimated tax for 2022 (Form 1040-ES) or file 2022 return and pay all tax due by March 1.
