Serving the community leaves an everlasting impact, and this May we were able to recognize five GreenStone employees who are doing just that! Through rural education and bringing people together, our employees were able to live out one of our CoreFour Values, getting involved!
This month our Alma branch staff volunteered at Project RED (Rural Education Day) hosted by the Gratiot County Farm Bureau. Over 335 fourth grade students in Gratiot County visited McNabb Park in Ithaca, Michigan to learn about agriculture.
"We had eight stations covering topics including pollination, dairy cows, technology in agriculture and more. It's a great opportunity to share agriculture with so many students alongside my coworkers," says GreenStone's associate appraiser, Olivia Gager.
Also recognized this month is GreenStone's Executive VP & Chief Legal Counsel Pete Lemmer who was honored for his longstanding community efforts with the 2024 Glen L. Taggart Award for Community Contributions to International Understanding!
"To be recognized by our friends at MSU for this award from among the teams of people MSU has brought together is very humbling," says Pete. "It has been a blessing to be a part of many different communities over the years through friendships developed in part with the MSU International Studies and Programs."
Sam Schafer and Ashlee Guerrero from GreenStone's Ann Arbor branch also attended the Fair Housing event at Washtenaw Community College. Together these financial services officers offered educational resources to attendees and shared how GreenStone helps communities grow.
