Multi-Peril Crop Insurance
Actual Production History (APH)
Multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI) guarantees production and quality per
section of ground. It also pays to replant if replanting is necessary. In
most cases, the replant coverage will reimburse you fully for your seed
and labor expenses.
Policies protect against the risk of lost crop production income due to
hail, wind, fire, insects, plant disease, wildlife and earthquakes. Coverage
is available at a number of different levels - between 50% and 85% in 5%
increments - allowing GreenStone to tailor a policy to meet your specific
needs.
Coverage for most crops is based on the producer's Actual Production History
(APH).
This is insurance coverage developed by the federal government to provide
a safety net for crop producers when the crop disaster program authority
was repealed. Farmers who choose to not utilize this insurance or crop insurance
forfeit their right to any government assistance programs.
CRC & RA are a revenue based policy that provides a combination of
yield and price protection. It provides revenue and marketing risk protection
to support more aggressive marketing plans.
